On Tuesday, January 31st a group of Mead FFA chapter members traveled to livestock judging.
These members had studied and practiced how to grade animals based on their muscle capacity and their structure or stance as an animal. Each member was graded on their knowledge of being able to separate the quality of animals, and giving their reasoning behind which order they placed their livestock.
The Senior Livestock Judging team consisted of Miranda Mueller, Chance Andersen, Zach Pickworth, Marissa Napolitano, and McKenna Holloway placed 10th at Districts.
For Junior Livestock Judging, each member had a fantastic finish. With JT Haag, Caleb Dickes, Cali Carritt, Riley Mayfield, Abby Miller, Tyler Engel, Samantha Dyas, and Emily Hanson the team finished in 4th place and will be advancing to State. Caleb Dickes, Riley Mayfield, Abby Miller and Emily Hanson will make up the Junior Livestock Judging team at State.
