Book Fair Benefits Students, Teachers, and Libraries
We had so much fun at the Book Fair this year! Students, parents, and teachers all enjoyed a great time at the Book Fair. The only letdown was when the fair was closed and students couldn't visit any more. Several students had long faces after the fair left. But several students were excited when the Book Fair closed because of the prizes they won at the end. First Grade was happy when Jitzel won the pinata drawing, since she shared all of its contents with them. Don in Fourth Grade was the winner of the Family Night Guessing Game. His guess was closest to the actual number of "snowballs" in the jar. This lucky winner got to take home the jar of marshmallows, choose a free book, and received a coupon for a Blizzard from Dairy Queen.
One student from each grade also won a free book. Winners include Abby from Kindergarten, Josie from First Grade, Alexis from Second Grade, Josh from Third grade, Wyatt from Fourth Grade, Tyon from Fifth Grade, and Nichole from Sixth Grade. Congratulations to all the winners of all the different drawings and contests!
Teachers also benefited from the Book Fair. Every teacher received something from her wish list posted in the library during the Book Fair. Almost every teacher participated by posting a list of books she would like to enhance her classroom library. This really helps benefit students by providing new books to read. Thank you to all the generous students and parents for donating books!
Both the Elementary and High School libraries benefited from the Book Fair, too. Our total book profit from the fair was $1152.97 dollars! This provided us with over 130 new books for our libraries. Several additional books will be added using the rest of the book profit money. What a great way to get new books for students and teachers to read!
Now that the Book Fair is wrapped up and students, teachers, and librarians are enjoying their new books, all that is left is to say a big THANK YOU to all who helped with the fair in any way and to look forward to next year's fair. We can't wait!
