Cherry Pit Spitting Contest

The seniors partook in a Cherry Pit Spitting Contest held on August 29 in the school parking lot.

“I thought it was very interesting, and kind of awkward as well, I definitely thought I’d be better at it also!” said Jayden Haag, she was one of the top placers in the contest, placing in the top three.

Josh Quinn followed her on that, saying, “Greatest thing that happened to Mead since sliced bread. It was very fun.” Josh was the first place finalist in this event and he brought home the gold.

When asked where the idea for the contest came from, Mr. Quinn stated “I was inspired by the amount of cherries we had and I highly doubted anyone could out spit me.” He was the creator of this marvelous event.

In the end, all of the seniors said that it was an unexpected event and they had an enjoyable time participating. McKenna Holloway said, “It was the ‘pits.’”
