HISTORY OF THE
INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY
High school students in West Virginia founded the International Thespian Society in 1929. It was created to provide legitimacy and support for international high school theatre programs. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Society now has an active high school membership of well over 5,000.
