What is a Greenhand? New FFA members got the chance to experience that on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 at Central Community College in Columbus. First year FFA members, or Greenhands, were exposed to multiple leadership and FFA related opportunities within Agricultural Education. The morning sessions included leadership workshops presented by the state FFA officers, including individual and team building sessions. Students also got the opportunity to learn about official FFA dress. After lunch, members broke out into contest specific workshops to see what interests they might have for future career development events. Participating for the Mead FFA were Freshman Maylie Brestel, Samantha Dyas, Riley Mayfield, Nathaniel Degerness, Jaden Felty, Abby Miller, Delaney Patocka, Michelle Morken, Cali Carritt, JT Haag, Chloe Huckeby, Tyler Engle, and Emily Hanson. Additionally, three officers Caleb Dickes, Ana Leise, and McKenna Holloway attended to learn about a chapter Program of Activities.
