Board of Education Meeting Minutes (7/11/16)

A Public Hearing and Regular meeting of District 72, Mead Nebraska was held Monday July 11, 2016 in the Jr.-Sr. High IMC. President Kuhr called the board meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  The following board members were present: Kevin Hough, Stephanie Langemeier, Brenda Halbmaier, Rich Kuhr and Nate Mongan.  

The Board of Education makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public. The Act is posted on the Northwest wall of the meeting room.

Superintendent Dale Rawson explained the annual policy hearing requirements.  No members of the public had questions.

Principal Quinn and Superintendent Rawson reported that they are working on summer items and maintenance.

Superintendent Rawson talked about selling surplus property owned by the school district, budget, annual hamburger fry and policies.

President Kuhr declared a special meeting on August 25th at 7:00 pm.

The following is a condensed version of the minutes.  A complete copy is available for inspection in the Mead Elementary Office.

The following other action was taken by unanimous vote of members present: Appointed Janeen Felty to be the new board member, approval of the Minutes, Bills and Financial Reports and Consent Agenda, motion to establish ground rules for working with the superintendent as discussed and noted, accept the bid of Taylor Services for the 2016-2017 school year. Approve to offer unsold properties for sale with Orion Realty with all offers below the minimum appraised value submitted for consideration to the board, adopt board policy 5350 on first reading and changes to the sixth portion of Series 6000 as recommended.

President Kuhr declared the meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
