The Mead Academic Decathlon team traveled to Midland University on Saturday, January 16th.  There, the students competed in six subject area tests and the Super Quiz.  The subject areas were Language & Literature, Music, Art, Mathematics, Economics and Science.  The Super Quiz was over Social Sciences.  All of the tests were guided by the overall 2015-2016 Academic Decathlon theme:  India.

Mead was unable to advance to the State Final, due to not being able to field a full regular team of competitors, but in the individual events the students performed well.  Several students brought home medals, and all the students showed well in all subject areas.

There were nine schools at Midland University, but the majority of Mead's fellow Very Small School competitors were located at one of the five other testing sites held throughout Nebraska.  Within the tests, students only compete against other students at the same GPA level as them.

Ethan Dyas was recognized as the Top Scorer for Mead.
