Board of Education Meeting Minutes (9/14/15)

A Budget Hearing was held at 7:00 pm followed by a Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, District 72, Mead Nebraska on Monday September 14, 2015 in the Jr.-Sr. High IMC. Vise President Carritt called the regular meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.  The following board members were present: Kevin Hough, Brenda Halbmaier, Andy Carritt, Stephanie Langemeier, and Rich Kuhr. Absent Nate Mongan.  

The Board of Education makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public. The Act is posted on the Northwest wall of the meeting room.

Principal Quinn reported on enrollment, MAP testing for grades 3rd -11th, professional development, fall sports and Instructional report.

Superintendent Rawson reported on the budget for 2015-2016 school year, upcoming meetings, hiring of new staff, coop football and board policies. 

The following is a condensed version of the minutes.  A complete copy is available for inspection in the Mead Elementary Office.

The following other action was taken by unanimous vote of members present: approval of the Minutes, Bills and Financial Reports, Consent Agenda with adding Lena Huckeby as a Para, adopt the 2015-2016 budget and set the levies as presented, contract with Orion Realty proposal sale of the following surplus property-portion of the elementary playground that is south of the old storage building and west of the extension of Oak Street, area north of North 2nd Street between Elm Street and Vine Street, area that fronts on North Vine Street between 1st and 2nd Streets. Contract with Fakler Architects and Geary Engineering for the remodeling of H.S bathrooms, and approve the changes to the twelfth portion of Series 5000 as recommended.

President Carritt declared the meeting adjourned at 8:10 pm.
