“I know you teachers like summer, but my kids ________________ (fill in the blank)”.  I have heard this comment many times already this summer. I know most of the time parents are probably exaggerating a bit. However, parenting is difficult and sometimes advice is helpful.  Consider using the Nebraska Family Helpline 1-888-866-8660 or the website http://dhhs.ne.gov/behavioral_health/Pages/nebraskafamilyhelpline_index.aspx . Some of the reasons families call the helpline include:

Kids not following Family Rules

Agression at Home or School (hitting, kicking, throwing objects)

Arguing

Running Away

Problems with Siblings

Chemical Dependency

Depression

Physical and Sexual abuse

And more….

The Nebraska Family Helpline is provided by Boys Town and supported by the Nebraska Dept. of HHS.
