Parent Coordinators Needed for Concessions

Grades 9-12 will again have the opportunity to raise funds by working concession stands.  In the past, classes have been paid as much as $100 per game worked, making this an excellent fundraiser.  Please keep in mind that these fundraising efforts do not benefit athletes only, but all students in the class.  The proceeds pay for Prom, Senior Sneak, and caps and gowns for each class.

We do need parents from each class to help with this fundraising opportunity.  At least one adult will need to be present at all times for supervision purposes.  Two would be even better, and every attempt will be made to stagger the scheduling so that no parent has to be present the entire night.  The best case scenario is that most parents will be willing to work, which means parents would only have to work a handful of times and conflicts with their child’s game times can be avoided.

It has worked well to have a Parent Coordinator from each class coordinate the parents for each game.  We will be using the same approach this year.

Anyone willing to serve as a Parent Coordinator for a class is asked to contact the high school office at 624-3435.  As of August 27, only the junior class had a parent volunteer as the their Coordinator.  Parent captains will be provided with a schedule of fall home games at which concessions will be sold and a class contact sheet.  Time is of the essence in this matter.  The first concession stand will be needed September 2, and several other dates come up quickly.

One of the major benefits is the reduction of other fundraisers by classes.  This also benefits parents and patrons, who should see a reduction in the number of fundraisers they are asked to contribute to or work.

Parental responsibilities will include supervision, selling concessions, and clean up.  Someone who knows the routine will usually be available to help new volunteers get started. instruction manual.

As a school, we sincerely ask for parental support on this issue.  Hopefully, enough parents will realize the benefit to their students and choose to participate.
