Class of 2010 Scholarship Recipients
Once again, the Mead seniors worked extremely hard filling out scholarship applications and writing essays in order to compete for scholarship dollars.
A big thank you goes out to the local individuals, organizations, and the Mead Education Foundation who make so many scholarships possible for our students. As a class, these seniors have earned over $662,800 in scholarships!
Listed below are the seniors who earned scholarships.
Rachel Andersen
Rachel has been awarded a Doane College Presidential Scholarship. She has also accepted a Nebraska Wesleyan Scholar Award. Locally, Rachel has been offered the Mead Education Association Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship. She has also earned the Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship.
Samantha Ballard
Samantha has been awarded the Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship as well as a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Shelby Brabec
Nebraska Wesleyan has awarded Shelby the Fredstrom Scholarship. Locally, Shelby has earned a Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship and the Nels Paulson Board of Directors Scholarship. She has also been awarded the William Wageman Scholarship and the Community Blood Bank Scholarship as well as a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Kelly Cooper
Kelly has been awarded a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Stephanie Fredrickson
Stephanie received a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Emily Garcia
Emily has been awarded the Wesleyan Scholar Award and a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Regents Scholarship. Northwest Missouri State University has awarded her a Distinguished Scholar Award as well as the Midwest Student Exchange Award. Emily has accepted the Doane College Board of Trustees Scholarship and both a Doane Dance and Vocal Music Scholarship. She also earned a Peter Kiewit Foundation Legacy Scholarship. Locally, Emily has been awarded a Nels Paulson Scholarship, the Robyn Maly Scholarship, a Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Stephanie Harriman
Southeast Community College has awarded Stephanie a First Generation Scholarship. She has also earned the ECNC Southeast Community College Scholarship, a Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Cody Heinke
Cody has been awarded a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Kristina Johnson
Kristina has been awarded a University of Nebraska-Omaha Regents Scholarship and the David Distinguished Scholar Award as well as a Briar Cliff University Academic Award. She has accepted the University of Missouri at Columbia’s Mark Twain Non-Resident Scholarship. Kristina has also been awarded the Saunders County Livestock Association Scholarship, a Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Michelle Kuhr
Michelle has received both the Mead FCCLA Scholarship and the Mead Student Council Scholarship. She has also been awarded the Robyn Lei Maly Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Nicholas Larson
Nick has received a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Heather Moerker
The Omaha Elks Lodge #39 has awarded Heather the Ralph Leif Vocational Scholarship. Locally, she has earned a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Ashley Moravec
The University of Nebraska at Kearney has awarded Ashley a Chancellor’s Scholarship. She has accepted the Canfield Scholar Award from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Ashley has earned the Saunders County 4-H Council Scholarship and the Saunders County Independent Bankers Scholarship. She has also been awarded a Nels Paulson Scholarship and the Jim Langemeier Youth Scholarship. Ashley has accepted the Mead Community Service Scholarship as well as a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship and the Sons of The American Legion Scholarship.
Brian Pearson
Brian has been awarded the Veo Gustafson Memorial Scholarship, the Mead Alumni Association Scholarship, and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Austin Pickworth
Austin received the Eastern Nebraska/Western Iowa Car Council Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Andrew Rasmussen
Andrew has been awarded a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Nathan Raver
Briar Cliff University has awarded Nathan an Academic Award. He has accepted a Regents Scholarship from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Nathan has also earned a Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Kiley Schmidt
Kiley has received the Kinman-Oldfield Family Foundation Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Brett Virgl
Doane College has awarded Brett the Board of Trustees Scholarship along with an Athletic Scholarship. He has also received a Midland Lutheran Academic Award and an Athletic Scholarship. Brett has accepted a University of Nebraska at Omaha Chancellor’s Scholarship and an Omaha VFW Lodge #39 Scholarship. He has received a Nebraska Elks At Large Scholarship, the Wahoo Area Kiwanis Scholarship and the Mead Alumni Association Scholarship. The Bank of Mead has awarded Brett their scholarship and he has received the Jaden Ford Murray Memorial Foundation Scholarship as well as the Jim Ellison Multi-Generational Scholarship. Additionally, Brett has been awarded the Anti You Know Scholarship, the Paul Tibbets Nuclear Energy Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship. He has also earned the Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship, the Joan R. Williams Maly Scholarship and the Ziegenbein Engineering Bookworm Scholarship.
Amy Wimer
The College of Saint Mary’s has awarded Amy an Honor Scholarship as well as a Residence Hall Scholarship. She has received a Briar Cliff Academic Scholarship and has accepted the Midland Lutheran Presidential Scholarship and a Midland Lutheran Athletic Scholarship. Locally, Amy has received a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Melisa Wonder
Melisa has been awarded the James M. Cox Foundation Scholarship and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
