First Grade Makes Flags
To complete a social studies unit on the study of symbols, each first grade student was asked to make a flag to represent their family, neighborhood, school or country. They studied many of our country’s national symbols such as the White House, Liberty Bell, Presidential Symbol, and the ‘Stars and Stripes’. After completing their flags the class paraded the hallways and into several classrooms to share their flag representations.
