One Hour Makes a Difference To Our Students

“If we are going to make a difference with today’s children, we have to get involved with them as one-to-one mentors.”  Dr. Tom Osborne

This simple statement is where it all began.  Dr. Tom Osborne saw a need, and he filled it.  In 1991, he started a non-profit organization called TeamMates.  TeamMates is a one-to-one mentoring program that matches caring adults in your community with youth in your school.  We also call it the “one hour difference,” because that is all that it takes, one hour per week, at school, during the school day.  Today TeamMates reaches over 5,000 students in Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor please contact Kim Homes at 443-1029, or if you know a young child that would love a mentor, contact your school guidance counselor.  Or, click here for more information.
