Robert C. Byrd Scholarship
Deadline: March 15
To be eligible for designation as a Robert C. Byrd Scholarship candidate, a student must:
1) be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
2) be a legal resident of the state of Nebraska
3) be scheduled to graduate from a public or private secondary school, or earn an equivalent of a certificate of graduation as recognized by the state of Nebraska, in the current academic year
4) have a minimum ACT composite score of 30
5) have applied or been accepted for enrollment as a full-time student at an institution of higher education, including postsecondary vocational institutions but excluding U.S. military academies, in any state
6) file a Statement of Selective Service Registration Status with the school that they plan to attend
7) have not defaulted on a Federal student loan or other obligation
Forty scholarships up to $1500 per year may be awarded. Recipients may apply for scholarship renewal for up to a total of three additional years.
