Class of 2009 Scholarship Recipients
THIS JUST IN: The Class of 2009 will accept and use $387,900 of the just over $520,000 in scholarships that they were offered at graduation.
Once again, the seniors worked extremely hard filling out scholarship applications and writing essays in order to compete for scholarship dollars.
A big thank you goes out to the local individuals and
organizations who make so many scholarships possible for our
students. As a class, these seniors have earned over $520,000 in
scholarships.
Listed below are the seniors who earned scholarships.
Robert Bennett
Robert has been awarded a Mead Raider Educational
Scholarship.
Jamie Divoll
Jamie has received the Nels Paulson Board of Directors
Scholarship as well as a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Mariah Frahm
Doane College has awarded Mariah the Board of Trustees
Scholarship and a Music Scholarship. She has also been awarded the
Nebraska Community Blood Bank Educational Scholarship. Locally,
Mariah has been offered the Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship and a
Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Timothy Hickman
Tim has been awarded the Mead Raider Educational
Scholarship.
Eric Johnson
Eric has received the James Canfield Scholar Award and a
College of Engineering Scholarship from the University of Nebraska
Lincoln. He has also been awarded the Wesleyan Scholar Award from
Nebraska Wesleyan University. Hastings College selected Eric as the
recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and an Athletic Scholarship
while the University of Nebraska Kearney offered Eric a
Chancellor’s Scholarship. He was also named as a recipient of the
Rural Health Opportunities Program Scholarship at Wayne State
College. Eric has accepted the Regent’s Scholarship and the College
of Engineering scholarship from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Eric has also been awarded the Ray Warren/Tom Forst Memorial
Scholarship and the Fremont Education Association Scholarship.
Locally, Eric has been awarded the Ziegenbein Engineering Bookworm
Scholarship, a Nels Paulson Scholarship, a Rudy Paulson Memorial
Scholarship and the Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Carol Miller
The University of Nebraska Omaha awarded Carol the Dean’s
Scholarship. She has accepted the University of South Dakota’s
Promise Plus Leadership Scholarship as well as an athletic
scholarship. Carol has also received a community scholarship, a
Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship, and a Mead Raider Educational
Scholarship. She has also been awarded the Kinman and Oldfield
Family Foundation Scholarship, the Robyn Lei Maly Scholarship, and
a Mead Alumni Scholarship. Additionally, Carol has received the
Mead FCCLA Scholarship and the Mead Student Council
Scholarship.
Jordan Moline
Jordan has accepted both the President’s Scholarship and an
Athletic Scholarship from Midland Lutheran College. He has also
received the J.C. and L.A. Duke Scholarship. Locally, Jordan has
been awarded the Kinman and Oldfield Family Foundation Scholarship,
the Joan R. Williams Maly Scholarship, a Mead Raider Educational
Scholarship, and the Saunders County Independent Bankers
Association Scholarship.
Rebecca Murray
Becky has been awarded the Susan Thompson Buffett Scholarship
and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Cassandra Parsons
Northwest Missouri State University has awarded Cassie the
Freshmen Merit Award. She has received the Frontier Co Op
Scholarship as well as the Mead Education Association Scholarship
and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Andrea Schmidt
Andrea has been awarded the Jim Langemeier Memorial Scholarship
and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship. Additionally, she has
been awarded a Kinman and Oldfield Family Foundation
Scholarship.
Brittany Sterup
The Creative Center has awarded Brittany their President’s
Scholarship. She has received the James M. Cox Scholarship, the
Jaden Ford Murray Memorial Foundation Scholarship, a Mead Raider
Educational Scholarship, and the Yutan American Legion Scholarship.
Brittany has also been awarded the Veo Gustafson Memorial
Scholarship and the Wahoo Area Kiwanis Club Scholarship.
Amber Thilliander
Amber has been awarded an Imagine America Scholarship and the
Make the Grade Scholarship from Vatterott College. Locally, she has
received a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Heather Thorson
Creighton University has awarded Heather the Magis Award as
well as the Ignation Award. Additionally, she has accepted an
Athletic Scholarship from Creighton. Locally, Heather has been
awarded a Rudy Paulson Memorial Scholarship, a Nels Paulson
Scholarship, and a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship.
Sydney Vogt
Nebraska Methodist College has awarded Sydney the Wishmeier
Dean’s Scholarship. She has accepted the President’s Platinum
Scholarship as well as the Living and Learning Scholarship from
Clarkson College. Sydney has received the following local
scholarships: a Nels Paulson Scholarship, the Mead Alumni
Scholarship, a Mead Raider Educational Scholarship, the Community
Service Scholarship and the Bank of Mead Scholarship. Additionally,
Sydney was awarded the Sons of The American Legion Scholarship.
Ethan Wellman
Ethan has been awarded the ECNC Scholarship to attend Southeast
Community College.
Congratulations to all of the seniors who have earned scholarships,
