2008-09 Class Schedule

2008-09 Class Schedule

We are excited to be able to offer two new classes for the 2008-09 school year.  The first class is a CNA (Certified Nurse’s Assistant) class which will be held at the school during first semester.  Students must be 16 in order to take the course and the cost will be around $450.  After completing the test and being licensed by the state, students may be reimbursed by the facility where they have a job as a CNA.  For example, South Haven in Wahoo reimburses tuition if students are hired there.
The other new class that is being offered to Mead juniors and seniors is an AP Literature/Composition class offered by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  This is a full-year dual credit course; students will receive high school English credit as well as college credit after successfully passing the AP test at the conclusion of the course.  The AP Lit/Comp class will be completely free to students and is a great way for students to earn three hours of college credit while still in high school.  I have sample syllabi for each of the classes if you would like to look at them before registering.
