RESIGNATIONS RECEIVED

The Mead Public Schools have received resignations from three staff members effective at the end of the current 2007-08 school year and have received additional coaching staff resignations from several other staff members.
Leaving us at the end of the year will be Jill Janke our K-12 Art Teacher and Jr High Girls Track coach, Jenny Kocian our Agricultural Sciences Teacher, and Jean King our 5th Grade Teacher. Ms. Janke has resigned to accept a part-time position in the Elkhorn St. Patrick's Elementary School and to open Janke Gallery in the near future. Mrs. Kocian will be leaving us to accept a similar position with the David City Public Schools. Mrs. King has accepted a Middle School position in the Gretna Public Schools for next year, she said it was a difficult decision to leave Mead but her new school is 5 minutes from her home and played a big part in her decision to leave. We wish these three well and good luck in their new positions and endeavors.
Resigning coaching duties but remaining as a teaching staff member include: Valerie Reiman who has resigned from her Head Girls Volleyball assignment, she is considering reassignment to a softball coaching position; Traci Berg has resigned from Jr High Girls Volleyball but remain as the Head Girls Basketball Coach; and Amy Sund who is giving up Jr High Girls Basketball so that she can have at least one season off during the school year as she is currently coaching in all three sports seasons.
As a result of these resignations, we will have the following positions open for the 2008-09 school year:
- K-12 Art (.25 FTE Elementary and .75 FTE Secondary)
- 7-12 Agricultural Sciences
- 5th Grade Elementary Classroom
We will also have the following coaching positions available with the above positions:
- Varsity Volleyball
- Junior High Girls Volleyball
- Junior High Girls Basketball
- Junior High Girls Track
Our intent is to have these positions filled as soon as possible. If you know of someone who is interested in any of these positions, encourage them to apply.
