Arete (Creighton University) Summer Program

2007-08 8th graders

by Dawn Moser

This summer Creighton University will offer Arete, a program for gifted students entering high school in Fall 2008.

This program is held on Creighton's campus.  Students will explore the many exciting facets of college life and participate in courses designed to expose them to a variety of academic fields of study.  Instructors in the program will be Creighton professors, master teachers from the Metro area and professionals from the community.  The academic experience will be balanced with a variety of social and recreational activities allowing students to relax and enjoy the company of their peers.  Students will be housed in residence halls staffed by the Program Director and resident advisors who all work together to ensure that the student's experiences on campus are positive.

Applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria:
1.  currently enrolled in a gifted program
2.  nomination by professional staff in current school
3.  standardized test scores in the 96th percentile

The cost of the program is $580 inclusive.  See Miss Moser for a brochure and application form.
