Walk With Me, Talk With Me
by Mariah Frahm
How much exercise do you get everyday? Do you have any idea how much you're actually walking? Well students at Mead School now have at least some idea. This year National Honor Society decided to start a "Walking Club." It allows students to walk laps in the gym after they are done eating lunch. Miss Janke, Miss Moser, Lacey Whitaker, Diana Schoenherr Mariah Frahm, and Brittani Brabec spearheaded the event and participated in a week long trial period. They found that it takes approximately 18 laps to equal one mile and, on average, a student could walk 13 laps in the 20 minute time period. The girls put up a giant poster outside of Miss Moser's office that students can keep track of their mileage. At the end of the year, the students who meet their pre-set destination will receive a special gift courtesy of the National Honor Society.
