Mead Boys On The Rise To The Top

by Robert Hartgrave

Mead opened up their basketball season with a couple of big wins over Palmrya, Brownell-Talbot, Cross County and Weeping Water. In the preseason, Mead was rated 3rd in Huskerland Prep. In the Omaha World Harold, Mead was ranked 7th and in the Lincoln Journal, Mead was ranked 3rd in the preseason. Now Mead is currently ranked 4th in both papers and in Huskerland. The reason that Mead has gotten this far is because of their great post play from Adam Taylor and Josh Charles. Also, a major contributor to the Raider’s success is the great perimeter play from Jordan Moline and Eric Johnson. Also great defensive play from Patrick Coady has fueled the offense for Mead. Mead’s next challenges will be East Butler, Louisville, Elmwood-Murdock and Osceola. It’s like Mead’s Head Coach P.J Quinn always says, “The Raider's real opponents are themselves.”
